Hessel S Dethmers family held a farewell party and celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary before moving to a new farm east of Sheldon. Anna’s little girl friends gave her a party and several Van Diepen children recovered from grippe. Gloria Swanson in Under the Lash and a Mack Sennett Let er Go at the movies next Saturday night. Miss Mildred Grooters hosted about fifteen schoolmates for her 13th birthday. Also notes on a STRAIGHT SALARY advertisement for poultry mixture and fresh vegetables at Vans.

Community Sale in Boyden Draws Crowd but Returns Less
The second annual Boyden Community Sale drew a large crowd and sold mainly small articles with about 800 dollars in actual sales and a few hundred more in bid-in items. Bidding was slow and many items did not fetch their worth though attendees enjoyed the day. The Boyden church aid societies served sandwiches and coffee while ideal weather helped turnout. A local film listing and Orange City Academy basketball games are noted, along with telephone line interference affecting south-town value and an injunction request to curb the light and power company.
