Miss Luella B M Hensch married Walter Kruse in a June wedding at a St Paul church. The ceremony featured readings, a choir, and flowers in blush pink apple green and heliotrope. A 4.44 mile county road grading contract was let to C W Whitmore of Sioux Falls at .267 genits per cubic yard. The same contractor will grade three miles of Garfield township road. Bridges were awarded to Federal Bridge Co Des Moines with bids of 4000 for a 36x20 I beam in Lincoln township and 6244 for two 28x20 I beam structures in Capel township.

The Farm Bureaus of O’Brien and Sioux counties plan a joint July 4 picnic in Sheldon with a national speaker sought. Forenoon graduation exercises, an O’Brien versus Sioux counties ball game, street sports, and horse shoe pitching are on the schedule. Evening events include a woman speaker, band, motion pictures, and a dance at the armory. Committees from both counties organize programs, concessions, and grounds for the first joint county picnic.
