Pryde born July 4 1870 at Moin gona Iowa died May 27 1927 at his Boyden home from heart failure aged 56 years 10 months 23 days Funeral services were held May 31 at his home and United Presbyterian church Rev Neil Stewart officiating He was postmaster for 18 years a Boyden city official and community leader He managed Quaker Oats in Boyden for over ten years and was active in I O O F and Modern Woodmen of America He leaves wife Clara Westra two children J Morris of Chicago and Ethel of Boyden a sister in Eau Claire Wis and two half brothers in Wisconsin plus many relatives.

Electric shock burns gravel crew worker near Sheldon Fair Ground
Rudolf Jantzen, an employee of the Van der Stouwe & Van der Schaal graveling crew, was fatally burned Tuesday morning after touching a live 6600 volt wire near the old Sheldon Fair Ground. He was rushed to Myers Hospital and, though unconscious at first, recovered consciousness and spoke with relatives. He is the son of Mrs. Kate Jantzen and brother of Mrs. A. B. Vanden Brink.
