Fire at De Jong Oil Station Prompted Hull Fire Response
Hull Fire Department rushed to the De Jong Oil Company station on south Main street after a gasoline leak caused a fire on the station driveway. Mrs. Wm. Zenk drove into the pumps. attendant Melvin Van Schepen advised neutral, moving the car into the street as the gasoline burned out without damage to pumps or equipment.

The Sioux County Farm Bureau Women’s Chorus earned a blue ribbon at the statewide extension music festival at Iowa State University Ames on July 20. They performed Dutch songs with Dutch Dozen from Orange City and were featured on WOI TV with a Siouxland farmer replay August 10. Obituary: Charles S Gibson of Hull Dies at 78
Charles S Gibson 78 longtime Hull resident died in his sleep after a heart condition. He served as Hull High School janitor for 41 years and is survived by his son Floyd and grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the American Reformed Church with Kraai Funeral Service in charge.
