Cornerstone Laying at St John Lutheran Aug 7

The St John Lutheran Church will hold a cornerstone laying Sunday August 7 with service at 10 30 and ceremony at 11 15 at the new church site. Leonard Schuster contractor will place the stone with Altena Electric and B and L Plumbing handling utilities. Construction aims for early 1961 completion.

Meerdink Injured Trimming Tree Falls at Home

George Meerdink suffered multiple injuries after a ladder slipped while he trimmed a tree at his home on Friday. He received stitches for a forehead wound, then was taken to Sioux Valley Hospital where doctors treated a fractured elbow and a fracture in the hip socket, with patient reported as progressing well.

Senior Life Saving Class Starts August at Rock Valley Pool

A senior life saving program begins August 8 at 9:00 am at Rock Valley Pool. Eligibility requires age 1 or older. An adult class for women may run if enough interest. Ten one hour sessions cost 4 dollars in total. Be at the pool by 9:00 am Monday August 8.

Hull Volunteer Fire Department members and families held their annual picnic supper in the local park last Thursday evening. More than 60 people across 18 families attended and enjoyed a chicken supper. Children rode the big fire truck during the event.

American Legion Auxiliary Meeting Sets Scrapbook Drive
