Rev Henri Steunenberg leads morning worship at 9 30 A M and afternoon service at 1 30 P M. Sunday School is at 8 00 P M with Christian Endeavor at 7 30 P M.
The United Presbyterian Church lists Sunday School at 9 45 A M Morning Worship at 11 00 A M and Evening Worship at 7 30 P M led by Pastor Henry Bank indicating regular weekly services.

The Boyden second string squad has challenged local businessmen to a softball game at the town’s new park. Businessmen accept and the game is set for July 17 evening with only businessmen eligible to play. The Reporter will have further details.
Mr and Mrs Ray Brockhouse and Mr and Mrs Henry Bosman arrived home Thursday after a long tour of 20 states and provinces. The party covered 7000 miles and a feature on tour highlights will appear next week in the Reporter.

Pete C Baartman paid a ten dollar fine plus costs and faces suspension of his driving privilege. Edwin Dickevers also paid a ten dollar fine plus court costs in mayor s court.
William Louis Schneider was sentenced to 20 years by Judge M. D. Van Qosterhout after pleading guilty to setting a house on fire near Matlock. He stated he was confused about his actions following a domestic quarrel and was living at the J. F. Washer farm east of Matlock before the blaze. He was taken to Fort Madison Penitentiary to begin his term.
Sunday evening guests in the Chris Vanden Berg home included Mr. and Mrs. Chris Jansen and daughter of Rock Valley and Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Jansen and family of Perkins. Also visiting were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kuyper and family from Wichita Falls Texas during the Fourth of July weekend.
The Bob and Mae Morris Troupe wowed the crowd with high balance acts while Miss Joyce Kool of Sanborn showcased a lighted baton routine before a grand fireworks display provided by Boyden businessmen. Sheldon’s winning softball streak ended 4 to 0 against Boyden on July 4th as both centers expect a rematch.

The Sibley area suffered severe hail damage from a Sunday storm stretching from Little Rock to Spencer. Cars were forced off highways as motorists sought shelter in farmyards. fields near Sibley Airport and east toward Melvin were hardest hit with hail stones several inches deep.
