Morning Worship at 9 30 A M and Afternoon Worship at 1 30 P M with Sunday School at 8 00 P M and Christian Endeavor at 7 30 P M under Pastor Rev Henri Steunenberg.
The United Presbyterian Church lists Sunday School at 9 45 AM Morning Worship at 11 AM and Evening Worship at 730 PM led by Pastor Henry Bank. Members and neighbors are invited to attend all services.
The St John Lutheran church under Pastor H J Knoploh lists a German service at 8 A M and an English service at 10 15 A M on Sunday July 5 The Sunday School meets at 9 A M with an Adult Bible Class at 9 15 A M Luther League gathers at 8 P M The Sunday School will hold its annual picnic with a pot lunch and invitations extended to the congregation.
John Turner, Ground Observer Corps supervisor for Broken Bow, Nebraska, was commended in a letter from Col Robert W Fish of the ARCS Wing. The note credits his phone call from the Ground Observation Post as the first Air Force notification, enabling rapid dispatch of rescue and inspection teams to Offutt AFB. Turner is recommended for the GOC scroll of Merit.
Mr and Mrs Lammert Pookes welcomed a daughter on Thursday June 25 at Sheldon hospital She has a brother Daryl age one The mother Donna Jean Tutje is now Linda Pookes honoring three children Linda and Denis and the newborn son or daughter is expected to be named later.
Boyden Boy Scouts will attend a week long camp at Lake Okoboji. The list of registered scouts includes Clairneil Dunnick Delmar Dunnick Monty Van Meeteren Ronald Van Meeteren Lenny Henifing Rudy Henning Harm Oldenkamp Edward Den Herder Don Van Diepen and Tony Vanden Berg. Scoutmaster Oldenkamp and Cal Stickel will lead the group departing Sunday afternoon with mandatory 3 PM arrival for physical checks. The Boyden United Presbyterian church will hold its annual Sunday school picnic on Thursday evening at 6 30 PM on the church grounds. Pot luck supper will be served followed by games and slides.

Funeral services for Emma Bietz were held at Salem Lutheran church in Parkston South Dakota. Born Emma Winter January 30 1894 she trained as a nurse in Omaha and married Emil Bietz in 1928. She died June 23 at St Benedicts hospital Parkston aged 59 with four children and seven brothers and one sister surviving.
At a Board of Supervisors meeting Sioux County approved ordering a drag line outfit and carloads of lumber for repair. Plans aim to fix smaller damages with county crews and hire private contractors for major concrete and steel bridges. No tax increase. funds on hand for reconstruction.
The Rev Delbert Vander Haar accepts a call to serve Bethel Reformed Trinity church Futon Hawaii and will move with Mrs Vander Haar and their son. They plan to arrive by early fall after six years in their current ministry.

Auxiliary officers were re elected led by Mrs. Chet Dagle as County President and attendance was 44 of 150 members.
