Hull Co-Operative Creamery Holds Its Annual Meeting

Patrons and shareholders filled the Hull cooperative creamery basement for the annual meeting on Tuesday January 26. Officers and board members were reappointed or elected, with Alfred Tiedemann as president J Moss secretary and Jake Zoet vice president. The creamery reported over 2.135 million dollars in sales with 1.703 million paid for butterfat and declared a cash dividend of 3 1460000 for 1959.

Fire at Korver hog house draws two fire companies

The Boyden Fire Department was called to the Wm Korver farm near Bell School Tuesday morning at 6 45. The Sheldon fire company was already on scene but the hog house blaze gutted the interior and burned a large hole in the roof.

The Koedam acreage north of Hull formerly held by the Clarence De Jongh family sold last week to David De Jong. Possession is set for March 1. D. Vander Schaaf handled the transaction.

Oosteninks Mark 40th Anniversary With Open House

Mr and Mrs Henry Oostenink celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with an open house on February 3 from 7 to 10 pm in the basement annex of Hull First Reformed Church. They married February 4, 1915 by Rev Bouma at the Scholten home. They farmed in Hull area 33 years and live on a small acreage southeast of Hull. They have three children Leona Koerselman Richard Oostenink and June Smit Jr all residents in the area.

Boyden-Hull Finishes Fourth in County Tournament

Sioux Center captured the County Tournament with Maurice-Orange City in second and Floyd Valley third. Boyden-Hull opened with an 18-8 first quarter edge against West Sioux, leading 39-20 at halftime before winning 81-32. Consolation loss to Floyd Valley 55-41 ended the run as Freerks and Zuiderhof led scoring for Boyden-Hull.

Sioux County plans its annual Band Festival at Hull on February 8 with Boyden Hull and six area schools contributing. More than 300 instrumentalists from Sioux County will perform in a massed concert after individual band entries.

Hubers Celebrate 60 Years of Married Life

Mr and Mrs John H Hubers observed sixty years of marriage on January 27 1960. Born in Holland the couple immigrated to the United States with roots in Pease Minnesota and Sioux County. They raised five children and have sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. No celebration is planned yet due to distance with plans for a later commemoration.
