Tax levies rise in five towns and fall in eight
In Sioux County, five communities will pay a higher 1959 tax levy than 1958 while eight towns have lower levies for all purposes. Hull drops from 80.36 to 69.58 mills and Boyden from 71.61 to 58.17. Towns with higher levies include Sioux Center Granville Chatsworth Maurice and Orange City. Alton Hawarden Hospers Treton Matlock and Rock Valley have lower levies.

Aliens Urged to File Address Reports by January 31 1960
Robert C. Wilson of the Immigration and Naturalization Service urged all aliens in Iowa and Nebraska to file address reports by January 31 at the nearest INS office or post office. He noted the law requires aliens to report addresses each January and that guardians must file for children under 14. He warned of penalties for noncompliance and estimated about 20 000 reports would be filed.

Completes Forty Years of Service as a Rural Carrier
Mr Wm Kwikkel Rural Mail Carrier marked 40 years on Rural Route 1 from Boyden Iowa Post Office. He began January 19 1920 and remains active daily in all weather with his daughter Mrs George Dickevers as substitute. Only change is his 1920 car replaced by a 1941 Chevrolet. Local residents wish him many more years of service.
