Community Christmas Tree Program December 22

The Citizenship Club hosts a community Christmas tree event on Monday evening December 22 with community singing led by Prof. S. H. Buntley. Santa Claus will distribute toys. chicken sandwiches and coffee provided. Donations for tree and lunch may be given to Ruthye Jackson, Sue Van Diepen, A. Vanden Brink, or Wm. Van Giessen.

Last Chance for Iowa Service Bonus Claims

Former service men eligible for an Iowa bonus are urged to apply immediately as no claims may be filed after December 31 1924. The bonus is 50 cents for each day served whether at home or abroad. Application blanks and full information are available from state officials or designated departments.

Touring Car Stolen From Church Parking Lot

A Ford touring car was stolen Monday night from in front of the United Presbyterian church while owner Marion Kuyper attended services. The car, fully insured, prompted immediate notice to the Insurance Company. Kuyper bought the vehicle in November. Sioux County authorities were informed but have not located it.

Gift to Minister Honors Sioux City Union Speaker

Rev W A Winter Stein of the It Warden ME church received a potted cyclamen from the Sioux City Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Mrs Catherine French, president, delivered the gift and presented thanks for his county convention address at Boyden. A check for speaker fees was also returned.

Public School to Close for Holidays and News Update

The Posden Public School will close Friday for a two week vacation for Christmas and New Year holidays. Faculty take time off. several staff transfers and journeys are noted. Christmas Eve Program at United Presbyterian Church

Sabbath school of the United Presbyterian Church hosts a Christmas Eve program on Wednesday December 24 with opening chorus solo recitations and a candle lighting, featuring Mrs. Van Zwelles Cus, Ruth Jackson, and Lorraine Wee among others. Also notes a local sale and community notices.

Bake Sale Auction Draws Large Crowd at Town Hall

The Ladies Aid Society of the German Lutheran church held its annual auction sale at the Town Hall on Saturday December 6. The event raised about 285 dollars from the sale and lunches. Each lunch included a dance and performances by attendees. Mr Hollander won the goose, while Col Ben J Verlink of Ful served as the auctioneer.
