Clock recorders for the pasteurizing and ripening of all cream were installed at the Farmers Co-Operative Creamery Co under a new law. The local creamery has three clocks and the recording charts are saved and sent to the state upon request or collected by government inspectors.
Veenschoten Bros owners of local electric light and power equipment sold an option good until January 1 1925. A company representative visited Boyden last week to take up the option and assume the business January 1 1925. Rumor ties the sale to Northwestern Light and Power Co.
Dr C W Wassam of the State University of Iowa will lecture at the Boyden High School Auditorium on Thursday evening December 18. A musical program accompanies the lecture with community singing glee club numbers and vocal solos by Hal Buntley. Proceeds will buy curtains and state equipment. A large crowd is hoped for. The Miss Johanna Kanmminga basket social two miles south of Boyden on Friday night drew a good crowd and raised about $30.
Henry Wargowsky resigns after ten years as manager of the Farmers Co-Operative Creamery Company of Boyden. He plans to buy into a large creamery in Charles City and move there. William Wargrowsky will assume management January 1 1925 with Henry Van Houte joining December 15. A Des Moines relative dies at 72 in Iowa City.
The Citizenship Club presents aCommunity Christmas Tree program on Monday evening December 22 with community singing led by Prof S H Buntley. Santa Claus will distribute toys for children and chicken sandwiches with coffee will be served. Donations of tree materials or lunch items are invited to Ruthye Jackson Sue Van Diepen A Vanden Brink or Wm Van Giessen.
Counties call attention to auto owners that license plates for 1925 are now available. Some counties changed the serial numbers and owners must apply after January first to avoid a $1 penalty plus monthly delinquency charges.
The 1925 Grand Jurors are named to report January 5 at 1 30 am.
