The Boyden Reporter printed sale details draw large crowds and steady sales. Mr and Mrs Matt McCabe Jr recently returned from Manchester Iowa visits. The Jake Bettan family plans moving to Chicago Illinois after the first of January.
A Matlock district delegation in Sioux County asks county supervisors to gravel four miles of the road from the first section corner east of Matlock to the north Iowa Pike Mail. The request targets the segment leading to the primary gravel road and reflects local infrastructure needs in the north end of the county.
Due to extreme cold weather the annual Farm Bureau meeting has been moved to Friday night December 26 in the Town Hall. All Farm Bureau and Auxiliary members are urged to attend for a complete program and important business. A four reel picture will be shown for the audience.
Veenschoten Bros close their pool hall and convert the building into a members only club room named The Boy den Club. A membership fee will be charged and all members will receive keys for admission. The club will provide pool and dil ard tables access limited to members. The building and fixtures are leased from the owners.
Gloria Swanson stars in The Impossible Mrs Bellew a Paramount picture shown for one day at the Boyden Theatre on Saturday December 27. It follows a wealthy mother's love for her son and her struggle after a divorce court tears him from her amid her husband's murder case.
A Closing Out sale by Oscar Walinga on his farm two miles west of Boyden and four miles east of Hull takes place Wednesday January 7 at 12:00 PM. The catalog includes horses cattle hogs poultry machinery and household items with cash terms under 10 and notes up to one year at 8 percent.

Hatton and Ella Johnson, marriage licenses for Wm D Jansma with Van Dyke and Chas Tillema with Filla Muilenberg, and aliens petitioning for citizenship with examinations set for January 6. It also notes a forged telegram case against the Western Union and IC R R employee Wm Brooks and various civil suits seeking judgments totaling thousands of dollars for damages and misdeeds.
