Creamery Breaks County Record Under Wargowsky Leadership
Henry J. Wargowsky manager of Boyden creamery wins gold medal for navy butter made last summer and fall. He also captures 4000 cash prize in Iowa Cream Improvement Contest. He shifted patrons from sour to sweet cream, adopting individual can systems and cooling methods to produce uniform prize butter boosting prices for butter fat.

Mrs. Ike Dethmers Dies After Pneumonia Battle
Mrs. Ike Dethmers died Sunday at her home northwest of Boyden from pneumonia after a bout with influenza. She was 28 years old, married in 1911 to Ike Dethmers, with no children. Funeral and burial were in Boyden. she leaves her husband, her parents, six sisters, one brother, and many friends.

Death of Hamilton Jackson A community mourns loss of pioneer and hotel operator
Hamilton Jackson died suddenly last Saturday at age 73 10 months. Born February 6 1845 in Summit New York he married Frances M Jackson in 1873 and leaves a wife three daughters a brother two nephews and a niece. A pioneer who homesteaded near the A. A. Kuyper farm he later ran Merchants Hotel in Boyden and made trips to his birthplace over 35 years. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Hotel with Rev Karl Megdelsen officiating and interment at Boyden Cemetery. Out of town mourners included Mr and Mrs Duncan Gray and son of Highmoor South Dakota and Mr E Lanning of Inwood Iowa.
