Boyden Public Schools will reopen on Monday September 1 after a three month vacation. The 1919 1920 faculty includes Superintendent Scott T Crosswaite Miss Effie Dethmers high school Miss Gertrude Bossenbrook domestic science Mary Triplett 4th 6th grade Eleanor Quirl primary Matilda De Boer Alton Iowa with no music teacher yet and Miss Erma N Redfield O Spencer not yet signed. A strong school year is expected though the flu epidemic may affect plans.

Five thousand people gathered at the Sioux County Reformed church near Orange City for the annual mission feast. The event raised 2700 for foreign and domestic missions plus cannery income. talks featured Worthingtons of Kentucky and missionaries to India and Japan. A notable day included Alton chorus performances and a successful children’s hour, with Rev. Weldman presiding.
