Leo Kucinski director of the Monahan Post Band of Sioux City will lead a concert at Boyden Ball Park. The program starts at 8:00 P M on Friday evening August 13 with expanded parking to accommodate all cars on the grounds.
Lucille Hilde of Waukon now living in Munich takes piano lessons paid with coffee and margarine monthly. She rents the instrument from a German owner paying two pounds of coffee and one of margarine, and each lesson costs two cans of milk.
In the Boyden Softball Tournament the Le Mars Eagles defeated Boyden 5 to 0 while Hull edged Sheldon 5 to 4. Middleburg beat Matlock 4 to 3, and LeMars Coop beat Sioux Center 12 to 4. Finals pit two LeMars teams with Hull-Middleburg consolation.

Mr and Mrs Arnold Stegeman are proud parents of a son named Bradley George born Saturday August 7 at Sheldon Hospital. He weighs 8 lbs 4 oz. This is their first child. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Gus Stegeman.
Boyden ba l team placed second at the Hull tournament despite setbacks. Grooters sustained a head injury from a bat and required stitches but returned to catch. Henry Van Velter was struck on the head by a runner. Hank recovered enough to play, yet Hull defeated Boyden 7 to 1 in the final.
Quimby defeats Paullina 7-6 to advance to the final of the first annual Midget Baseball Tournament at Cherokee. Paullina had beaten Galva 12-2 to reach the semis, while Boyden fell 7-6 after a 4- run sixth inning rally by Quimby. Boyden had earlier beat Sanborn 4-3 and Ontario 13-10 in prior rounds.
