Graveling contracts awarded to Van Vander and Vander
Vander Stouwe and Vander Schaaf of Hull win the county road gravel surfacing contract for 4 and 3 4 miles from Federal Highway 18 to Matlock at 38 cents per yard plus 8 cents for each added half mile. G Mosterdt of Rock Valley lands the pit stripping contract at 20 cents per cubic yard for about 3000 cubic yards, $600 total. The setting was confirmed at a county Board of Supervisors meeting last week.

Highway Law Ruling Test by Sioux County Board
The Sioux County Board of Supervisors will join other counties to challenge an Attorney General ruling on highway funding. The AG defines a bridge as 12 feet or more in span, excluding culverts from reimbursement to primary road funds. A court action may overturn the ruling, restoring money to Sioux County's road and bridge funds.
