Uncle Sam seeks 4.5 billion for the Victory Liberty Loan with 4 3-4 percent interest on four year partially exempt notes. Campaign opens April 21 and quota specifics for Sioux County are pending. Quota cards mail late this week and residents are urged to push Boyden and Sioux County over the top on day one.
A Sewerage Construction Co representative will speak at a public meeting on sewerage and pavement issues at the town hall on Wednesday April 23. All are welcome. On a Wednesday evening at the bride's parents home in Boyden, Steve G. Vanden Brink wed Gertrude M. Rouwenhorst with Rev Douwstra officiating. The couple, attended only by close relatives, will reside in the Timothy Schaffer house after an elaborate reception. The event is celebrated alongside local notes including lost coats, press help, and residents returning from California.
Oscar Anderson, once of Iowa, captured by Sheldon marshal Saturday night while attempting to enter Hospers Schaap clothing store from the rear. The prior night Zager Blessing store burglary yielded shoes a shirt and socks, later found on Anderson. He was arraigned before a grand jury in Primghar and faces years at hard labor. He is son of a Hull man and has spent years in the reformatory.
The stockholders of the proposed new Farmers Bank will hold a meeting next Saturday, April 19 at 2 p m at the Town Hall. Invitations were sent out last Saturday for all to be present. The object is to organize the New Farmers Bank and elect a President and Directors. About $40,000 stock has been solicited.
The Farmers Co-Operative Creamery in Hull, Iowa showcases the State Butter Trade Mark under A. M Hein. The eight inch round wood stamp features an Iowa map outline with Iowa Butter and Finest Quality License No. 7, plus State Butter Control, signaling pure sanitary dairy product and premium pricing. Farmers praise the creamery and its management as a model for others.
