The Easter Cantata Rise, Glorious Conqueror by E. R. Heyser will be presented Sunday evening April 17 at 7 30 o clock at the First Reformed Church in Boyden. A 60 voice choir under Mrs Scott Sneller directs the performance with local residents invited to attend.

Mrs. Duistermars states the Hi Way Drive In scheduled to open in Hull on Friday, April 15. The eatery will operate from 3 30 p m on weekdays except Saturday and from 1 00 p m on Saturdays until school ends. Opening announcement appears elsewhere in this issue.

Boyden Legion Auxiliary Meeting Set For Monday

The Boyden American Legion Auxiliary Unit 272 will meet Monday April 18 at 8 00 p m in the Legion Hall. Chuck Graham Hurt In Emery Wheel Accident At Work

Chuck Graham suffered a severe cut and bruises from an emery wheel explosion at his shop. He was knocked to the floor and hit in the ribs, leaving a six inch gash. he returned to work the next day but remained badly bruised.

Northwestern Plans Six Week Summer Session This Year

Northwestern College will hold its first summer session for six weeks from May 31 to July 7. Registration for summer students is on May 31 from 8 to 10 a.m. with the opening convocation at 10 a.m. classes start at 10:30. Dormitory room and board are available for out of town students. A preliminary list of courses and fees was mailed to teachers and prospective students. Returns for the questionnaire are coming in and the final schedule is expected soon.

Lawrence W. Winter son of Mr and Mrs Albert L Winter Boyden Iowa has been assigned to intern for one year at Central Lutheran Church Edgerton Wisconsin beginning in September He is a 1958 Concordia College Moorhead Minnesota graduate and in his second year of theological training at Wartburg Theological Seminary Dubuque Iowa The internship is the third year of four years of training beyond college It offers practical parish experience under the resident pastor After internship he will return to the seminary for final year and then be ordained into the Lutheran ministry

Boyden Commercial Club Sets Post Office Dedication

The Boyden Commercial Club met at noon in the Legion Hall to discuss town matters. They announced the Post Office Building dedication for June 18 and formed committees for the event while planning a Friday opening and rescheduling the $25 drawing to 8:30 p.m. starting April 23.

Hull Club Tackles Memorial Projects and Promos

Hull Business and Professional Men met in the Legion Room to wind up the House Number Project by the next meeting date. They finalized Memorial Day horse races plans and discussed a May 21 Business Promotion Day plus a Friday night opening proposal with mixed votes. Additional topics included summer recreation, band concerts and Appreciation Day.

Boyden Hull students earned five Division I ratings at the state Vocal Music contest last week.
