Hull Public Library Tea Draws Fifty Local Ladies

The Hull Iowa gathering on Wednesday March 30 drew about fifty women. Marian De Hae performed Ax Solo and Mrs N Rozeboom reviewed Ugly American. A duet by Mrs Rossenberger and Mrs Kiwikkel accompanied by Mrs Gerrit Vander Schaaf. Library Board President Lucas De Koster praised volunteers and noted Loretta Murray as librarian. List of volunteer librarians and tea hostesses provided.

DHIA Completes Year With March 15 Meeting

Sioux No. 1 DHIA Coop held its annual business meeting on March 15 1960 at the Boyden Elevator Office. New directors elected were Marvin Horn of Boyden and Donald De Groot of Hull. Officers for the new year are Joe Fuhr of Boyden President August De Ruyter of Rock Valley Vice President and Edgar Vermeer of Boyden Secretary. The fiscal year March 1 1959 to February 29 1960 shows averages of 454.8 lb butterfat and 12 651 lb milk per cow tested with gross income per cow of 420.02 and feed cost 186.38 leaving product value over feed cost at 233.64. There are twenty three DHIA members and twenty three enrolled in owner sampler testing. The Supervisor for the association is Marvin Warntjes of Boyden.

Christian School Easter Program Set for April 12

Hull Christian School will present its annual all school Easter program next Tuesday April 12 at 7 45 p m at the Christian Reformed Church. Every child and room will participate with the lower rooms performing solos and songs while grades five through eight sing The Children's Alleluia by Lois Emig. All children join in a chorus with school band accompaniment. An offering will be taken.

Boyden-Hull Enters State Music Contest in Class C

Boyden-Hull High School will enter about 30 entries in the State Music Contest at Orange City this Friday and Saturday. The reorganized contest places Boyden-Hull in Class C with schools such as Alta and Sioux Center, with events from 3:00 pm Friday to 8:00 am Saturday. Admission is free at all centers.

Talent Show at Western Christian Friday April 8

On Friday at 8:00 p.m. a talent program will be held in Western's gymnasium featuring student acts. The top three numbers will win prizes voted by the audience. Tickets at the door cost 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for students. proceeds help pay for a recently purchased piano.

Western Go-Getters and Sioux Stockmen Win 4 H Tournament at Boyden

The Western Go-Getters 4 H Club of near Sioux Center and the Sioux Stockmen 4 H Club of near Orange City won their divisions in the Sioux County 4 H Basketball Tournament at Boyden. Evan De Boer scored 12 points to lead the Go-Getters to a 28 17 junior final victory over the Sheridan Livestock Growers. Joel Sybesma led the Read ing Rough Riders with 17 points as the Stockmen routed the opposing team 59 29. Capel Propellers beat the Holland Windmills 28 27 in junior consolation after overtime, while Welcome Workers topped Lincoln Loggers 64 52 for senior third place. John Haveman of the Lincoln Loggers led all scorers with 84 points across three games and posted high game scores of 37 and 29. Robert Langstraat of Capel Propellers led junior total scoring with 53 and had top game totals of 23 and 21.

Rev C Nieuwenhuis of Le Mars delivered a message on the theme Anchored in Christ as a male quartet sang. The event featured decorations from Sheldon Rock Valley and Gheldon churches and included a skit by Sheldon Young people.
