Fire Razes Several Small Buildings in Boyden
Wire of unknown origin razed several small buildings in Boyden on Friday afternoon. The blaze began around three o clock in the modern garage of Mrs Eldora Heitritter and spread to the properties of Mrs A Deke and John Rensink Sr A fire caused a barrel to explode in the Dekker barn blowing debris onto the Vanden Bosch garage. Sparks set a roof alight at the Henry Van Houce residence but were quickly extinguished. Heitritter had no insurance on the burnt garage and its contents. She plans a holow tile garage. Boyden fire department responded quickly likely saving the Mlazyay variance and Vanden Bosch garages. A damaged telephone pole interrupted power then a lineman repaired it. Several visitors from nearby towns spent Sunday with local residents.

Parsonage Construction Aimed For German Lutheran Church
Construction on the German Lutheran church parsonage near Boyden will begin soon after over six thousand five hundred dollars were subscribed. The old buildings were sold and ownership changes include Herman Winter buying the wash house Dietrich LeFranze the parsonage and Herman Antzen the summer kitchen.

Ionian Society elects officers. seniors choose spring play
The Ionian Literary Society elected Marvin Green as president Alma Heitritter as vice president Jessie De Boer as secretary and Oscar Barenwald as sergeant at arms A program followed. Six weeks exams set for Thursday and Friday. The senior class selected Cappy Ricks as their May class play. The Gypsy Rover operetta is slated for April 16 in the high school auditorium.
