Corwith Drug Store Robbed of Merchandise

The R. C. Welter drug store in Corwith was looted Wednesday night. A thief stole fountain pens cameras and other merchandise valued at 125 dollars after entering through a stone window. The Welter store suffered a significant loss of goods during the break in.

Fortnightly Club Mothers Day Program at Renwick Home

The Fortnightly Club hosted a Mother's Day program at Mrs. D. J. Chiiatengon’s home Thursday afternoon. Program items included Mother’s Welcome, Quotations on Mother, Old Sweet Home, and group singing. A story about Mrs. BR. G. Olson’s Norway trip was presented, with Mrs. Olson a longtime Renwick resident. A two course luncheon followed served by the hostess with flowers given to visiting mothers.

Miva Laura Engle and Adam Zweifel of LaVerne wed Tuesday afternoon at Fort Dodee. Attended by Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Gronlach, also of LaVerne, they plan to survey their home on the Zweifel farm. Mrs. Zweifel is a niece of Mrs. J. Maurer of Reamet and both families are well known locally.

White Pocket Gopher, Albino Specimen, Near Britt

Charley Perkins family spotted a pure white pocket gopher while driving home Thursday night. They stopped, found it albino, and killed the animal. It was sent to the News-Tribune office and later mounted by taxidermists Chris and Carl Reinken, displayed with a miniature gopher mound.

The American Legion and Auxiliary held their monthly nesting in the Legion hall last Thursday evening. The poppy committee advances publicity and plans a May 27 sale.
