Hardy Coop Elevator manager Carl Lippelt invites the public to an open house in the new Hardy office this Saturday December 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can tour the new office and equipment and meet the staff.
Lt and Mrs Keith Fisher welcome son Arian Keith born November 24 at Wealth Army hospital Fort Dix New Jersey weight 7 pounds 7 ounces. Mr and Mrs DeWayne Kiley announce baby daughter born Wednesday November 30 1960 Mercy hospital Fort Dodge. Mr and Mrs Richard L Nelson welcome son David Dean born Saturday November 26 1960 Iowa Methodist Des Moines. Grandparents Arvene Nelson Des Moines Marion Clark Fairfield. Mr Nelson teaches at Boone Valley Schools and Mr and Mrs Stanley Davin welcome daughter born Thanksgiving day Britt hospital. Barbaretta is the name of the newborn. Dr and Mrs N H Hesse and family shared Thanksgiving dinner with Mrs Littie Hesse of Luerne.

Thanksgiving guests in multiple households included Mr and Mrs Don Hanasa and others in Britt Ames and Goldfield. John Gibbs visited James McGowan in Luther cole Jege. Gimer family hosted in Sioux City and Evanston while others stayed in Kanawha Eagle Grove and Wesley.

The Remick Commercial Club met at People's Cafe on November 30 electing new officers for the year. Residents may enter a home decoration contest with prizes totaling 15 10 and 5 dollars. Drawings run December 10 17 and 24 with tickets available from members and a 300 dollar prize pool including a 25 dollar top prize. Santa arrives in Renwick on Saturday December 24 with child friendly events.
Sharon Hoffman is honored at a Friday bridal shower at the Phillips home. Senior class girls and their mothers attend. A tray lunch is served and gifts are received. Thanksgiving visits and multiple family gatherings are noted among relatives in nearby towns.
Funeral services for John Hefti aged 86 were held Wednesday November 23 at 2 AM at the Evangelical United Brethren church with Rev L S Mitchell. Interment was in Vernon Cemetery. Hefti born July 22 1874 in Schwandau Switzerland died November 22 1960. He came to America May 1 1891 and married Bertha Maurer March 8 1888 in Grand Prairie Nebraska. He resided on the Renwick farm with eight children and was last cared for by daughter Marie and husband. He was a member of Renwick EUB church.

Eleven year old Bill James son of Mr and Mrs Dean James is hospitalized at Lutheran Hospital Fort Dodge after a cyst was found inside the right femur. He underwent surgery last Tuesday and will stay until he can move about on crutches.

Mr and Mrs James Nesbit moved Saturday from the M. B Richardson apartment to Clear Lake. Mr Nesbit has accepted a position with the Central Body Co in Mason City.
The Builders Sunday School class of the EUB church met Sunday evening. Mr and Mrs Irwin W Friday hosted. Mrs Duane McCurry presented the lesson Taking Time for God. Election of officers: President Eldon Walt. Members voted to Ss Dee I.
Seals totals from Renwick Vernon Township reach 125 25 from 102 contributors with requests for continued donations. Local residents hosted dinners and visits during Thanksgiving week with families from Algona Ames Webster City and Adair as part of the community gathering.
