The Constituting Convention of the Ft Dodge Conference of the American Lutheran church met at St John Lutheran church with District President H W Siefkes presiding. Twenty four members from St Paul and Lake Lutheran churches attended. The Rev R E Langhalz was elected Conference President and Pastor Norman Johnson chairman of the conference Pastoral Institute.
Mrs Howard Rasmussen spent Wednesday and Thursday with her parents in Eagle Grove. Visiters from Corwith and Goldfield joined family gatherings. Daryl Babcock and Josephine Timm wed in Trinity Lutheran church as relatives stayed in Oelwein and Waverly.
Friday evening two Baptist Mission circles met in the church with Mrs Fred Engstrom and Mrs Refine Rossman Jr in charge of the program. The Baptist womens day of prayer was led by Mrs A H Stafford and Mrs Marvin Nelson. A Christmas lesson followed in two parts a skit and a film strip hosted by Mrs Wilbur Nissen and Mrs Larry Liscum.
The Kindergarten through 3rd grade students of Boone Valley Schools present a short Christmas program on Wednesday December 14 in the Renwick building at 7 30 p m. The event features a choral reading group and grade choruses with a theme It s Christmas Again and includes Santa and his reindeer. Directed by Mr Canfield.
