First graders suspended for threats to bring gun to school
In Harrison County at Wilsonburg Elementary, a 7 year old first grader and a kindergartner were suspended for a final week after each threatened to bring a gun to school and one to shoot a female classmate. Principal Rosalee Dolan noted no firearms at home and said no real danger was believed, but state safe school laws require suspension. The incident arose from a six day dispute starting with a telephone conversation and escalating on the playground.
