MEPS awards honor snowbound crew at Beckley MEPS
At Beckley Military Entrance Processing Station 21 armed forces members and civilians were honored for evacuating and reconstituting the MEPS after heavy February snow caused the roof to collapse. Col. Jeffrey C. Redmann praised their bravery and noted nearly 1 million saved by salvaging computers and equipment. The center planned to reopen at a temporary George Street site, with a new MEPS facility slated for early 1999 at Value City Center.
