Rome residence destroyed by February fire

The five room house owned and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Jones on North Elm street burned Thursday morning around 11. The blaze started in the flue and, aided by a high wind, consumed the structure before firefighters could save it. Only the walls remained, with total loss of contents. Insurance on the property was $2,200, half for the house and half for the contents.
