New Yorker Details Large Stock Exchange Loans

J H Griesel of New York testified to the Money Trust committee that on the Stock Exchange he lent as much as twenty to twenty five million dollars and borrowed fifteen million in a single day. He said he arranged loans for Chase National Bank and for Kuhn Loeb Speyer Co. He noted millions are loaned by telephone in routine business and warned fixed rates would drive money to domestic banks.
