Paula Perdue the 1966 67 Miss Flying Eagle of Woodrow Wilson High School will be crowned during the football game between WWHS and Hinton hosted by Hinton on November 11 Attendants Cassie Hinton Monica Swan Elaine Thurman and Pam Jackson are among the students named Paula is daughter of E R Foster of 104 Phillips Street and holds multiple school posts including Latin club president junior historian secretary and associate editor of The Eagle Dispatch Also involved are Elaine Thurman Pam Jackson Cassie Hinton and Monica Swan in various school clubs church activities and community groups

Mice and corn study aims to solve hybrid vigor mystery
Morgantown WVU genetics professor Dr. Igor Sarkissian has NSF support to study why hybrids like corn and mice show greater vigor. The project, titled Complementation by Mitochondria from Inbred Maize Seedlings, received over 16000 dollars after two years of prior work. Four PhD students, Robert G. McDaniel, Susan Nicholas, Eric Roos, and Hari Srivastava, will assist in the lab on this cross kingdom research into mitochondrial energy production and plant animal hybrids.
