UF To Stress Payroll Deduction Plan In 1972 Campaign
The United Fund of Raleigh County will emphasize payroll deduction in its 1972 campaign. Pacemaker Division leader John W. Shumate told 13 volunteers that most workers would contribute 25 cents weekly or a dollar monthly if deducted from pay. He urged Raleigh County industries to meet a one dollar monthly goal for workers earning under ten thousand dollars annually. The division aims for contributors of over ten thousand dollars with a higher percentage of income. The Fund supports 11 Raleigh County agencies. Pacemaker captains include Arnold Graybeal Melvin Toller Thomas Keyser and others from local firms. A kickoff luncheon set a first report meeting for September 28 with drive completion by mid October.
