Mingo Court Shows No Sign Of Rushing Deadline

Williamson W V The Mingo County Court faces a midnight Thursday deadline set by the state Supreme Court to resolve a disputed May primary. County Court President C J Ben Hamilton says there are no plans for extra sessions or longer hours as hearings proceed between five apparent losers and winners over ballot contests. If hearings extend past Sept 21 the apparent winners would automatically become official victors under state law.

200 Americans Leave Vietnam

Saigon reports the Nixon withdrawal slowed to 200 U.S. servicemen last week the smallest weekly total this year. Troop strength in South Vietnam sits at 36,500 with 22 100 Army 11 100 Air Force 2 000 Navy 1 200 Marines and 100 Coast Guard plus 138 400 allied Free World Forces. The plan aims for no more than 277 000 U.S. personnel by December 1.

POWs Rejoin Families In Hanoi Ceremony

North Vietnam released three American POWs in Hanoi in a moving ceremony.
