Seventy-nine Miners Die in September Mine Report
The September mining report shows 40 deaths and 1,474 injuries in West Virginia and nearby counties Raleigh Fayette and Wyoming. Major tragedy was a ten fatality gas explosion at Hutchinson Coal in McBeth Logan County. Raleigh and Fayette counties reported several fatal and non fatal accidents while Wyoming had no fatalities that month.

Home Destroyed As Owners Visit
Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Anderson of Big Rock Virginia visiting neighbors in Killarney learned their Big Rock home had been destroyed by fire in the early hours Friday. Anderson formerly headed Rhodell Coal and Big Rock Coal and is now under care of Dr. R. W. Chambers in Amigo. The couple left for Big Rock promptly after learning the news.

New Deal Clubs Meet This Week in Raleigh County
