The Agriculture Department raised its October 1 forecast for 1935 wheat to about 598.9 million bushels, up four million from a month earlier, with corn up 29 million and potato output down seven million versus last month. Wheat prices rose briefly on war tension, though markets closed lower than intraday highs.
Mr. B. B. Sims of Huntington West Virginia reports severe rheumatic pains disappeared over a year ago after taking Indo-Vin. He says all aches vanished and he has been completely free from rheumatic suffering for more than a year. Indo-Vin is sold in Beckley at Watkins Drug Store and by local druggists.
Puff observes a bag filled with hot air and calls it a bird. The monk confirms the birdlike appearance and warns that a peck from the beak could cause the blimp to leak.
The latest crop estimates show corn production at 2 213 319 000 bushels, up from 171 377 000 000 last year. Five year average stands at 2 562 000 000 bushels. Potatoes face frost damage with prospects dropping to 366 000 000 bushels from 385 000 000 a year ago, while the five year average is 363 000 000.

The community reassembles for PTA reorganizing at the school and Girl Scout troop activity continues.
The town held its regular meeting on Wednesday night October 9. Local residents reported weekend visits including Miss Ruby White of Beckley visiting the Smiths, Mrs. Earl Spradlin hosting Mrs. Carl Lilly and children from Glen Rogers, and Pearl Sprouse from Daws visiting the Williams home. Other activity included trips to Glen Rogers and Beckley and shopping in Beckley. Columbus Day closures observed. leading exchanges in the US will be closed Saturday while European and Canadian markets operate except Paris Bourse idle per summer schedule.
