Principal speakers at a Class room Teachers Association leadership conference in Jackson’s Mill Friday and Saturday include Dr. Thomas Robinson president of New Jersey Teachers College and Dr. Jean Jordan associate professor of psychology at Peabody College. West Virginia educators Dr. Stanley Martin president of West Virginia Wesleyan College George Hall of Marion County Corma Mowrey and Mary Sturm representing the West Virginia Educational Association will participate. Raleigh County CTA members are invited to attend the program which opens Friday evening with a full program session and continues Saturday with a full schedule. A banquet is planned Saturday evening.

Blackmon Discusses Boy Scouts For PTA
J F Blackmon district commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America told the Daniels PTA that more men are needed for leaders in Boy Scout work. He praised his sons Don and Eddie for life memberships and described a roving team to train leaders. The meeting opened with a devotional by Mrs D T Massie and a piano solo by Lorra Hatcher. Cub Scout Troop 162 presented a program directed by Mrs Ernie French and Mrs Bruce Moore with participants Danny Calvert Andy Rice Rodney Shrewsbury Franklin Wood Bobby Cochran Richard Pate David Moore and Jimmy Lester. The Daniels Cub Scout Troop received its charter. The ways and means committee proposed raising funds this fall by soliciting contributions rather than a dinner. A letter campaign to Daniels residents will seek support. Refreshments followed. Next meeting set for Nov 4 at 7 30 p.m.
