Holt Supports Plan for Police Fire Civil Service
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Weston Homer Holt endorsed the party platform calling for civil service systems for city police and firemen. In letters to Fraternal Order of Police head Henry Squires and during stops in Sutton and Burnsville, Holt affirmed his interest in legislation to apply civil service to police and fire personnel. His remarks followed meetings with Andrew Edmiston and W. W. Trent, and he departed for Wheeling for a state bar association session.
