Attempted Escape Ends For Prisoner in Hospital

Frank Lester 20 of Bud is under surveillance at Wyoming General Hospital after his attempted escape from Mullens police Saturday night. He rolled from a city cruiser window during transport to jail and was recaptured after a three point landing. Lester’s past includes an escape from Mullens jail and time in the state reformatory. Authorities said he and a woman were arrested at the White Kitchen Cafe on drunken charges.

Toney Funeral Rites Wednesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Winnie Florence Thompson Toney 61 of Carlisle will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Dothan Community Church with Rev. Ralph Parsons and Rev. John Wojtowicz 79 a Scarbro merchant died after an eight month illness. Funeral services were to be held at 2 p m today at the home of his daughter Mrs Joe Bokovitch with Rev Albert Noe officiating. Burial followed at Helltop Cemetery. He was born in Poland May 23 1873 and survived by wife Mary three daughters three sons a sister and two brothers.

Emmett Postmaster Dies Rites Wednesday

John C. Vance 67 died Monday in Logan hospital. Funeral 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Emmet Community Church with Rev. Lloyd Ferguson and Rev. Forrest Curry officiating. Vance served as postmaster and acting postmaster at Emmet for 15 years. Survived by wife Rose Ellis Vance and many children, two brothers, a step-brother, and other relatives.
