Theater Safe Jams Robbers at Oak Hill Theater

Oak Hill police investigate a reported attempted robbery at the Oak Hill Theater after burglars jammed the upstairs safe, preventing entry to the night latch and leaving the safe inaccessible. Theater officials found the jam yesterday and alerted authorities.

Ferdie Bragg of Sandstone faces larceny and horse theft charges in Richmond District after a neighbor Jennings Meadows reportedly stole a horse. Bragg, in custody on a peace warrant, posted a $500 bond awaiting hearing before Magistrate Clyde Hogan. Fayetteville Farm Bureau tops 1946 membership goal

Edwight Father Released On Bond

Ernest Ferrell of Edwight was freed from the County Jail on a $500 bond while awaiting grand jury action on charges that he cruelly punished his two sons aged 13 and 11. Magistrate J P Meadows said the boys were released to their mother after running away from home and testified at a preliminary hearing showing marks.

Mullens reports a wood surplus heading to Bassett Virginia and High Point North Carolina as B T Hash seeks to procure enough furniture to meet customer demand. Norman Home After Major Surgery in Richmond

Allen Junction resident Jack Norman returned home Saturday after a surgical operation at Richmond Medical College Hospital.
