Charles McDonald aged 28 a coal loader from Price Hill died at Beckley hospital at 10 this morning a week after being paralyzed from an injured spine in an automobile crash. He had been driving to Beckley from Price Hill June 19 when blinded by oncoming headlights he struck a roadside embankment.

Merchant Dies Of Heart Attack In City Avenue Store
Pasquale Nucita aged 47 was found dead behind a counter in his City avenue shop from a heart attack, said County Coroner W. W. Hume. A slight cut over the left eye noted from a fall against a refrigerator. The coroner saw no inquest. Nucita lived alone in the store building and funeral plans awaited his sister in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Bomb Attempt Placed in Mead Mining Machine
State police investigate an attempt to blow up a Mead mining machine after a half stick of 90 percent dynamite was found in a coal cutter near the Mead shops. Operator Green Steadham discovered the explosive while oiling the cutter before work.

Two Fined for Illegal Fishing in Amigo County
Luther Watson, 37, of Amigo, and John Williams, 44, of Frances, were jailed today pending payment of fines for fishing without a license. Justice of the Peace Sam Lilly fined each $20 and costs. Deputy Game Warden Ed Wood arrested them in Amigo.

Andrew Nance, 39, was treated at Raleigh General hospital for severe bruises and lacerations to three fingers on his left hand after his fingers were caught in car connections while coupling at the Mead mine. Nance had previously lost a forefinger in a mine accident.

Jury Deliberates in Harrison Hannah Murder Trial
A jury heard closing arguments from four lawyers in the Harrison Hannah murder case. Boys Sentenced For Calf Theft in County Jail

Miners Hurt in Two Accidents at Long Pranch
