Beckley Mine Exhibit Urges True Coal Mining View
Labor leaders and mine officials opened the Beckley Exhibition Mine at New River Park. They argued the Pocahontas exhibit misleads visitors by showing a 10 foot seam and car rides, contrasting it with West Virginia mining where workers face low seams. The officials urged tourism as a remedy for job loss in District 29.
