The Associated Press reports in Charleston that nine administration bills totaling 4,413,501.59 were presented to the House of Delegates. Proposals include 2,500,000 for 1937 social security, 1,750,000 for the road fund for 1936, 105,000 for current relief payments to 23,000 eligibles, 3,000,000 available July 1 for next year, 102,200 for state institutions aiding Pinecrest sanitarium, and a 45,067.25 deficiency for the state auditor. Most measures were also filed in the Senate. Chairman Thomas of Kanawha indicated bills would be favorably reported after a 2 pm session.

Silk Stocking Slaying Figures in San Francisco Case
Albert Walter Jr a 28 year old New Yorker was charged in the silk stocking killing of 24 year old Blanche Cousins. He confessed telling officers I murdered a girl and led them to a apartment where the body lay with a silk stocking around the throat tied to a bed post. Walter claimed the attack followed her resistance and unconsciousness.

Prosecuting Attorney Clarence Meadows said no arrests had been made today in the investigation of an attack on J. J. Doerr liquor commission investigator. Doerr was struck in the eye by a man he did not know as he walked from a Fayette street barber shop. Officer Saves Fireman's Life in South Kanawha Street Blaze
Patrolman Albert Gregory was credited today with saving the life of Bernard Martin, a volunteer firefighter, during a fire that destroyed the Beasley home on South Kanawha Street. Martin was dragged from the front room after being overcome by heat and recovered, suffering only a burned left hand. Arnold Yates of Leslie's Diner organized relief contributions, already collecting $40, with donations to be received at The Register office or Leslie's.

Pan overturns burn baby in kitchen accident
