Emory White, a Mullens railroad engineer, was struck by a moving train while waiting with Randolph Caldwell beside their diesel locomotive. White, free of serious injury, was admitted to Wyoming General Hospital after suffering two or three fractured ribs and bruises. The accident occurred where multiple tracks run parallel as two trains passed. White and Caldwell had just returned to Mullens with a coal train from the Stonecoat Branch and would have logged off duty soon. White, a employee with about 23 years service, lives at 607 Church St Mullens.
