Girl scores two scholarships at Woodrow Wilson High
Iona Richmond 18 daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Pallares 17 Chip St is spring graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She received two scholarships the Service Club and the West Virginia Board of Education. The Service Club scholarship is $200 from the Beckley Lions Rotary and Civitan Clubs. The Board scholarship covers tuitions and fees for eight semesters at West Virginia Institute of Technology.

Funeral services for John B R Wright will be held at 2 p m Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev Henry Dubois and Rev William Freeman presiding. Burial follows at Greenwood Memorial Park. Wright, 47, of 415 Bostick Ave East Beckley, died at 1 30 am Tuesday after a short illness. He was born May 23 1910 in Welumpka Alabama.
