Four Raleigh County towns name officials and two new mayors
In Raleigh County four municipalities voted Tuesday for two year terms. Incumbents Miller, Lester, and Sparacino won reelection while Hatcher defeated Salyer in Sophia. Mabscott and Rhodell kept their current leaders, with Woodrow Blankenship set to become Rhodell mayor on July 1. Results show Citizens Party gains and mixed party tally across Mabscott, Rhodell, and Sophia.

Raleigh County Park Board referred bids from Dairy firms for park ice cream to the Raleigh County Court. Pet Dairy Co offered the lowest price with a 10 percent discount, Greenbrier Dairy and Imperial offered five percent. Court ordered the matter returned to the Park Board. The docket also included releasing Paula Thompson as bondsman for Elgie Thompson on a $1,500 ministerial bond for marriage ceremonies.

A Raleigh County jail release notes Ohio man Cotton White Rhobin Hasten Graham of North Homestead 0 paid a $2 speeding fine plus costs to a magistrate after a 1:05 a.m. arrest by State Police on the West Virginia Turnpike. Also released to military authorities was Bert D. Bolen a Lillybrook soldier held at 1:45 p.m. for absence without leave from his base following a 12:30 a.m. arrest.
