A new truck operation at the Boone By-Products Coal Company mine near Fosterville is nearing completion and expected to begin coal production late next week with about five workers. Delays in cutting machinery slowed progress this week.

Brothers Suffer Injuries in Two Accidents
Grandsons of Mr. and Mrs. J W Richards of Mount Hope were injured in Gauley Bridge on the same day. One year old Joe Alten Long fell from a rock wall injuring a broken right arm near the wrist at noon. At 4 p m eight year old Dicky Leng was hit by a car and is in serious condition with a fractured skull and body bruises at Laird Memorial Hospital in Montgomery. The car was driven by a Summersville contractor. Long works for Chesapeake and Ohio Railway at Gauley Bridge.

Child Escapes Injury in Fall
Loretta Cumby three years old of Corinne fell about 25 feet through a hole in a plank bridge over the Guyandotte River at Corinne Bottom. She landed in shallow water between rocks and was rescued by neighbor Mrs Ernest Cecil. She suffered only a slight nose bleed and was uninjured aside from shock.
