Adopted Korean Dies On Arrival
In Tampa a four month old Korean baby adopted by the Lowell Brubakers died moments after arriving from Seoul on a 9000 mile journey. The child, observed alive briefly at Tampa International Airport, had been in care of a stewardess before death. A doctor cited pneumonia as the apparent cause. The Bradenton couple had exchanged letters with a Korean adoption agency for over a year and planned to raise the child with their sons Bobby and Dean. The husband voiced uncertainty about pursuing further adoptions due to the shock.

Woman Hurt In Wreck Reported Doing Well
Mrs. Pearl DeRoy was pinned under a wrecked truck for over thirty minutes Thursday morning and is now reported to be doing real well at Beckley Memorial Hospital. She suffered back and pelvic injuries when a tractor-trailer demolished her three story house at McCreery. The driver Raymond M. Noodard died of multiple injuries in a Beckley hospital about 10 am Thursday. his body was moved to Springfield, Tennessee, from Keyser Bryant Funeral Home this morning.

Mrs Neal Dies After Illness in Mason County Hospital
Mrs Ida Neal of Hoover Street died Thursday morning in a Mason County hospital after an extended illness. She was the mother of Mrs Lessie Burdine of Hoover Street. The body is at Pitchie and Johnson Funeral Parlor pending arrangements.

Fatal Shop Accident Claims Chester Clay at Amherst Coal Mine
Chester Clay aged about 48 was killed in a shop accident at the Amherst Coal Co. mine in Ac coville when two sheets of metal fell and struck him on the head between 5 and 7 am today. He was a United Baptist Church member from Resaco and is survived by his wife Opal. The body rests at McGee Funeral Home in West Hamlin.

Reckless Driver Fined After Sprague Crash Near Market
Howard Vass of Sprague lost control on Route 21 at Sprague at 6 am, crashing into Andy's Market corner, a fence, a porch, and a cinderblock wall. Damages were about 1000 dollars. Vass, treated for facial lacerations at Beckley Memorial Hospital, paid 50 dollars in fines and costs and was released after a magistrate hearing. Passenger James Mullins uninjured.
