Appalachian Official Receives Promotion
John E. Hammer, Beckley District personnel supervisor for Appalachian Power Co., is promoted to assistant division personnel supervisor in the Charleston Division effective Feb. 1. The move announced by Charleston Division manager Joe P. Gills and Beckley Division manager J. W. Mann, with Hammer to assist L. M. Dobbs. Hammer joined the company 11 years ago after Virginia Polytechnic Institute, previously Beckley District personnel supervisor since 1951. He is a member of Beckley Civitan Club and First Presbyterian Church, former Beckley Junior Chamber of Commerce president, married with two children, and plans to move to Charleston.
