Children Saved In Cold Spell Near Dixie Rural School
Residents near Dixie rural school rescued 12 marooned children as a relief party from Point Pleasant, Ohio River town, found them distributed among nearby homes. Earlier, a bus from Hannan District school with high school pupils completed the run and were safe at home. The 20 Robinson-Cooper high school students were sheltered in private homes overnight after deep snow and drifts halted travel. Boone Adkins, driver, said he turned back due to blinding snow and drifted roads.
