Marvin Jones Lone Texan Aids Search For AAA Substitute
Associated Press reports Rep Marvin Jones of Texas a key, laconic figure in farm policy shaping the post AAA shift. As chairman of the House Agriculture Committee he backs administration aims with terse, plain speech and strong party influence. He discussed relief measures in White House talks after the AAA decision and stood firm on the Bankhead cotton control fight, his simple style masking deep policy impact.

Texas expert Jones from grain and cattle district
Jones comes from a wheat and cattle district that could be a state in other regions. He is known as an expert in these commodities, has a quiet Texas drawl, enjoys hunting, and often seems undecided like a poker player drawing an ace. In Charleston, the new Asbury Memorial Episcopal church opened with a morning marriage, an afternoon baptism, and a worship service adding 15 new members in the evening.
