Gamma Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met in the Coca-Cola Social Room to plan a 6:45 p m January 26 party at Beckley Veterans Administration Hospital. The meeting covered blood typing for a Woman's Club program and decorations for the BSP Sweetheart Ball.

At Cornell University professor James R. Stouffer developed a high frequency sound device to measure lean meat and fat in live steers. The instrument, dubbed beef radar, uses echoes from fat and muscle to estimate quality and was tested on top winners at the International Livestock Exposition in Chicago.

Gulf Woman Club Heart Fund committee chaired by Mrs. Curtis Stewart will meet at her Lillybrook home at 7 30 p m Friday to plan the club variety show Jan 30 at Stoco High School auditorium. Proceeds go to Raleigh County Heart Fund Drive. Members named include Mrs. Clayton Newland Mrs Carson Boothe Miss Pauline Davis and others. Miss Davis chairs the glasses program for the needy project and invites donations of old eyeglasses by calling OV 3 5946.
Homeroom Mothers at Lincoln Elementary School announced a Valentine Party for pupils at 1 p.m. on February 14. Officers for the term were elected, with Mrs. Lewis Dunn as chair and a list of grade coordinators named for each class from first through sixth grade.
