Hillbilly singer and composer Hank Williams died today while traveling through West Virginia en route to Canton Ohio for a personal appearance. Chauffeur Charles Carr said Williams became unconscious in the Cadillac convertible near Oak Hill and was pronounced dead on arrival at Oak Hill Hospital. Williams, Montgomery Alabama resident, had been scheduled to perform in Charleston the previous night. bad weather redirected his plane to Knoxville. An inquest will be held this afternoon. Williams was 1 known for Lovesick Blues and other hits and had ties to MGM and KWKH Shreveport Harbor.
