Howard, 53, began with the commission as a surveyor in 1927 and will start March 1 at District 9 headquarters in Lewisburg. Turner, 65, has served in Lewisburg since July 1952.
Roy Lee Clendenin 18 of Oak Hill confessed to breaking into multiple businesses in January and February. He admitted taking cash sums from Modern Auto Sales and Service Oak Hill Motors Fayette Motor Co and attempted safes at King Coal Chevrolet Co. He had earlier been in reform school and was jailed awaiting a preliminary hearing after identification tied him to a silver crucifix found at a scene.
Fayetteville Woman's Club meets Monday at Memorial Auditorium. Ronald Steele will lead a Feaster Report on Education panel with Miss Gladys Bary directing a children’s musical.
